2026 Charlie Mosbrook

There’s a Better World Coming is a collection of Woody Guthrie songs performed by songwriter Charlie Mosbrook. In his youth, Charlie would spend lunchtimes strumming along with friends in the school courtyard, mostly playing Grateful Dead songs. One of those songs was Going Down the Road. Charlie also loved novelist John Steinbeck. While looking for a new book to occupy his attention, he was introduced to Bound for Glory by Woody Guthrie. Woody’s story was one that Charlie immediately connected to. The music became the standard he aspired to as a songwriter, and the inspiration to set out on his own adventures and humanitarian causes with songs like Woody Guthrie Folk Festival 2nd Place winner “Remember Who We Are”.

Charlie is the Program and Education Director of Roots of American Music, currently serves on the board of Folk Alliance International (Vice President) and Folknet of Northeast Ohio (President) and is the former president of Folk Alliance Region Midwest.

Charlie Mosbrook performed these songs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in 1996 as part of the Hard Travelin’ program, and again in 2026 with Woody at Home presented by Woody Guthrie Publications Anna Canoni and Steve Rosenthal (pictured below), inspiring him to record these songs in
